Data-Driven Excellence: A Top-Tier LexDana Ranking
Written by Ben Esplin
I am incredibly honored to share that LexDana’s 2026 Patent Intelligence Rankings have ranked me #11 for Overall Performance and #12 for High-Tech Performance nationwide, out of well over ten thousand active patent practitioners.
Personal accolades are humbling, as I view this as a powerful testament to the people I work with every day. First, it directly reflects the extraordinary quality of the innovations, innovators, and clients I have the privilege of serving. You simply cannot achieve top-tier prosecution outcomes without world-class intellectual property to build upon.
Second, these rankings validate the dedication of the entire team at Esplin & Associates. Securing a defensible patent is a collaborative endeavor. From strategic review to meticulous drafting, every member of our firm directly impacts the accuracy and precision of the work product we produce.
For context, LexDana’s rankings are entirely data-driven. They evaluate real prosecution outcomes and consistency over a five-year period (2021–2025) rather than relying on subjective peer surveys.
I am equally proud of our Activity rankings—#142 Overall and #183 in High-Tech. Maintaining top-15 performance metrics while simultaneously ranking in the top 150 for filing volume proves that a firm does not have to sacrifice substantive quality to meet client demand.
Ultimately, this sustained excellence is a shared success. I want to sincerely thank our clients and my colleagues for making it possible. Finally, I note we have been higher in the rankings in past years, and promise we plan to be better next year.
